1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using Echo me ("Service"), a Chrome browser extension for AI-powered audio transcription, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not install or use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting.

2. Description of Service

Echo me is a Chrome browser extension that provides AI-powered audio transcription and analysis services. Our Service includes:

  • Real-time Transcription: Speech-to-text conversion powered by Whisper AI technology
  • Multi-language Translation: Translate transcripts into English, Vietnamese, Japanese, and French
  • AI Summaries: Automatic generation of summaries and key points from your transcripts
  • RAG Chat Assistant: Ask questions about your transcribed content and receive AI-powered answers
  • Speaker Diarization: Automatic identification and separation of different speakers
  • Session Management: Save, organize, and access your transcription history
  • Export Features: Download transcripts in various formats

3. Browser Extension Permissions

To provide our Service, the Echo me Chrome extension requires the following browser permissions:

  • tabCapture: Required to capture audio from browser tabs for transcription
  • storage: Used to save your preferences and session data locally
  • identity: Enables Google Sign-In for account authentication
  • sidePanel: Displays the transcription interface alongside your browsing
  • activeTab & tabs: Required to interact with the current tab for audio capture

We only use these permissions for the stated purposes. Audio is processed for transcription and is not stored on our servers beyond the processing period.

4. User Accounts

Echo me offers both guest mode and authenticated accounts:

  • Guest Mode: Limited access to basic features without account creation
  • Google Sign-In: Full access to all features with secure authentication via Google OAuth

By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information through Google Sign-In
  • Maintain the security of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

5. User Tiers and Usage Limits

Echo me offers different usage tiers:

  • Free: Limited transcription and translation minutes per month
  • Starter: Increased minutes and additional features
  • Creator: Higher limits suitable for content creators
  • Pro: Maximum limits for professional and business use

Usage limits reset monthly. Additional credits can be purchased as add-ons. Current tier details and pricing are available in the extension settings.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Transcribe or process any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
  • Record conversations without proper consent from all parties where required by law
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of our AI models

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to the audio content you transcribe using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Echo me and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Subscription and Payments

Paid features are available through subscription plans and add-on credits. Payments are processed securely through our payment partners:

  • PayOS: For users in Vietnam
  • Payhip: For international users

By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Pay all applicable fees as described at the time of purchase
  • Subscription renewals are processed automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Add-on credits do not expire and are applied after monthly quota is exhausted
  • Refunds are handled according to our refund policy and applicable consumer protection laws

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ECHO ME SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. TRANSCRIPTION ACCURACY MAY VARY BASED ON AUDIO QUALITY, ACCENTS, AND BACKGROUND NOISE.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request deletion of your data upon account termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved through good faith negotiation.
